Update: YouTube TV and NBC agree to multi-year contract and avoid blackout.
Update on October 2 at 1:35 pm ET: YouTube TV and NBC today announced a new contract that will let NBC channels remain on YouTube TV. "We're thrilled to share that we've reached a deal to continue carrying the full NBCUniversal portfolio of channels. That means you won't lose access to any of their channels, and YouTube TV will continue to offer 85+ networks for $64.99," YouTube said. NBC confirmed the deal in a statement to Ars.
YouTube confirmed to Ars that the new contract is a multi-year deal but neither company revealed the exact length. The sides previously agreed to a short extension of the old contract to avoid a blackout and were then able to finalize a new channel-carriage agreement.
The new contract does not require YouTube TV to bundle NBC's Peacock online service, an NBC source confirmed to Ars. NBC previously sought a YouTube TV/Peacock bundle but dropped the demand earlier in the negotiations. The NBC source said that Peacock was not a "major part" of the negotiations with YouTube TV but that Peacock is "a part of the conversation" in all negotiations with partners.

The Pocket P.C. from Popcorn Computer is a handheld computer with a 4.95 inch full HD display, a thumb keyboard, and a 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex-A53 quad-core processor. First unveiled in 2019, the Pocket P.C. still isn’t shipping to customers just yet.
But Popcorn Computer says it has begun shipping units to developers, which is an important step toward ensuring that the computer will actually be useful when it is available for everyone else.
The company says it’s still finalizing the Debian 10 GNU/Linux software that will be pre-installed on the Pocket P.C., but that the work is “ongoing and progressing rapidly.”
But part of the point of this handheld is to be an open platform, so you may also be able to install other operating systems – Popcorn Computer’s parent company Source Parts recently announced it’s working to port postmarketOS to work on the device as well. The team also released the hardware design files for the Pocket P.C last year, which means that anyone who’d prefer to build their own device (or customize the design) can do that rather than buying one.
The Pocket P.C. is available for pre-order for $299 and up. The starting price will get you a WiFi/Bluetooth model with four USB-C ports, a 59-key backlit keyboard, a 3,200 mAh removable battery, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of eMMC storage, and a microSD card reader.
You can also pay $399 for a model that also has a LoRa module for low-power, long-range networking. Both are expected to ship before the end of the year (although you might want to take that Q4, 2021 estimate with a grain of salt, since the Pocket P.C. was originally supposed to ship in 2020).

What could the future of the Internet look like? With the digital world of the 21st century becoming a pit of unwanted ads, tracking, paywalls, unsafe content, and legal threats, "Wayforward Machine" has a dystopian picture in mind. Behind the clickbaity name, Wayforward Machine is an attempt by the Internet Archive to preview the chaos the world wide web is about to become.
Internet Archive suspects what the Internet of 2046 looks like
The Wayback Machine from the nonprofit Internet Archive remains massively popular among netizens, journalists, and archivists interested in seeing how a webpage looked in the past, even when the page or entire websites are later removed. Users can simply browse to web.archive.org to save a webpage or browse to the copy of a webpage as it appeared at an earlier date. As such, the 617 billion-pages-strong Wayback Machine has become an indispensable digital asset since its inception in 1996.
Whereas Wayback Machine allows you to go back in time, this week's Internet Archive has come up with a "Wayforward Machine" doing the opposite. Those visiting the Wayback Machine are now greeted with the following banner that claims to take you 25 years into the future.
