But some are illegal. A few are both illegal and just downright nasty, and some rogue developers even think your hardware is their hardware.

These developers and the surrounding ecosystem only care about popularity or money. Yes, they do make money from you, selling that marvellous VPN that you so desperately need to feel safe, showing you ads galore, promising everything for free.

Now, if it sounds like it can’t be legit because it literally sounds too good to be true and that they must be dodgy or bonkers doing all this for nothing, I can tell you your spidey senses are absolutely correct.

It is too good to be true and there is no such thing as a free lunch.

We can see the appeal of Kodi builds, but please stop using them. Help us improve our documentation, suggest usability improvements, a feature, whatever helps us improve Kodi.

Cyberpunk 2077 will come to Stadia after console, PC launch

Thus far, few games have hit Stadia the same day as their wider launch.

Developer CD Projekt Red has quietly confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will not launch on Google Stadia on September 17, the date it's due to hit PC, Xbox One, and PS4. Instead, the game will be available on Google's streaming gaming service "by the end of the year," the developer says.

The confirmation, which appeared at the bottom of a largely unrelated press release, doesn't come as a complete surprise. When the Stadia version of Cyberpunk was first announced back in April 2019, CD Projekt Red merely said the game would hit Stadia "the same year" as other platforms. But that was before Cyberpunk 2077 got pushed back from a planned April release to its current September target date.

Meanwhile, the official Cyberpunk 2077 website lists Stadia alongside other platforms under a large banner and button reading "Coming September 17th, 2020. Pre-order Now." Clicking through on that offer, though, doesn't offer a Stadia preorder option, likely because Stadia doesn't offer preorders on a platform level.

The 2020 VW Golf GTI proves you shouldn’t overcomplicate an icon

There’s an all-new model due late next year, but the Mk7 soldiers on until then.

Volkswagen might not have invented the hot hatch, but from the day the first Mk1 GTI rolled off the Wolfsburg line in 1975 it has become synonymous with the concept. And as ideas go, it's a breathtakingly simple one: take a cheap front-wheel drive hatchback and then add some performance bits. A more powerful engine, better brakes, uprated suspension, and maybe a few styling tweaks to let the cognoscenti know this one is a little bit spicy.

You can blame my background for the fact that I have a huge soft spot for GTIs. There were few cars more desirable yet theoretically attainable to a young driver growing up in London in the early 1990s, though in truth the epidemic of joyriding meant insurance premiums far outside the budgets of most students. Despite this longtime fondness for the GTI, we've yet to review one here at Ars. I've raced a Mk 2, we've tried the more powerful, all-wheel drive Golf R (twice!), and the Jetta GLI, but the week that I just spent with a 2020 GTI is the only seat time I've managed in a Mk7 GTI, minus a couple of autocross runs a few years ago when Chevrolet brought one along to benchmark the handling of the Bolt EV.

And yes, I did mean to write Mk7. Although VW revealed the Mk8 Golf late last year, and briefed us on the Mk8 Golf GTI last month, that car won't go on sale in the US until late 2021. So the Mk7 continues here into model years 2020 and 2021, in large part because the US and Canada make up 45 percent of all GTI sales now.
