You can get the Apple Watch Series 2 Nike+ edition on October 28

More than a month after the Series 2 went on sale.

We now know the official release date for the Nike+ version of the Apple Watch Series 2. The product of Apple's wearable collaboration with the athletic company will go on sale on October 28, according to an updated page on Apple's website.

The Apple Watch Series 2 has been available since the middle of last month, but we knew the Nike+ version would be coming sometime in October. The differences between the models are few, but important: if you purchase the Nike+ edition, you'll get the special, perforated silicone band that should be more comfortable during runs and high-intensity workouts thanks to the small holes that allow air to reach your skin. You'll also get a few exclusive watch faces that use the Nike Run Club aesthetic, showing you the time and activity information in bold, neon colors.

Other than that, the Series 2 Nike+ edition is the same watch as the regular Series 2—it has all the same connected features as the regular Apple Watch, and you're not limited to the Nike Run Club app to track exercises. You can download third-party apps or use Apple's Activity app to monitor workouts—and if you have a regular Series 2 watch, you can download the Nike Run Club app to track runs. You can also buy additional watch bands and use them with the Nike+ model if you don't want to limit yourself to just the perforated band.

Putlocker.is Mysteriously Goes Down

Putlocker.is, one of the most-used video streaming services among pirates, has been offline for more than three days. The site currently shows a CloudFlare error message suggesting that its servers are unresponsive. Similarly, the operators themselves have yet to indicate any signs of life.

putlockerisWith dozens of millions of monthly views, Putlocker.is is the go-to video streaming site for many people.

The site ranks among the 250 most-visited websites on the Internet and is particularly popular in the United States, Canada, Australia and South Africa.

However, starting three days ago the site suddenly became inaccessible. While a brief downtime stint is nothing unusual for these type of sites, the prolonged downtime is cause for concern among users.

Many are voicing their frustration after being confronted by yet another CloudFlare downtime banner, showing them that the site’s servers are still unresponsive.

“Putlocker is down so I no longer have a reason to live,” one user dramatically announced.

“Putlocker has been down the whole day. I’m going through serious withdrawals,” another added.

Looking for answers, TorrentFreak tried to contact the Putlocker.is team on their known support address. However, this email returned an error message as well.

As far as we can see the current problems are related to the site’s servers. The domain name itself is operating as it should and hasn’t been seized or suspended by the registrar.

Interestingly, the downtime occurs right after Hollywood’s MPAA reported the site to the United States Trade Representative, describing it as one of the largest piracy threats.

“Putlocker.is is the most visited infringing English language video streaming link site in the world,” the MPAA wrote.

According to the MPAA the site is believed to operate from Vietnam, with its servers being hosted at the Swiss company Private Layer. Whether there’s a direct relation between the report and the downtime is unclear though.

Meanwhile, several “other” Putlockers are seizing the opportunity to gain some traction, at least for the time being. Whether the real Putlocker.is will return as well has yet to be seen.

In just a few short years, we’ve gone from a world with no virtual reality headsets (or at least, no good virtual reality headsets), to a world where it every man and his dog is making some sort of head-mounted display. There’s PlayStation VR for the cool kids that like having a small London nightclub strapped to their faces; the HTC Vive for the nerds that want to look some sort of HR Giger nightmare; and even Google Cardboard, a sort of Fisher Price “my first VR” for the tech curious.

But let’s say for a moment you aren’t flush with cash like, say, a doctor or a YouTuber with a gambling website. You can’t buy all the VR headsets, so what do you do then? Fortunately, we at Ars Technica have been sliding our sweaty foreheads into the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, PSVR, Samsung Gear VR, and Google Cardboard for months now. So much so that we think it’s about time to give you a hard, once-and-for-all, definitive, totally serious buyers guide for the best VR headset for you.
