
The HP Spectre x2 is a 12 inch Windows tablet with an Intel Core M Skylake processor, a 1920 x 1280 pixel IPS display, and a built-in kickstand and a detachable keyboard that lets you use the tablet as a notebook. It also supports an optional digital pen (sold separately).
HP introduced the Spectre x2 in late 2015 and continues to sell select models for $850 and up. But today Best Buy is offering an entry-level version for just $400, which is one of the best prices I’ve ever seen for this 2-in-1 tablet.

Ardour is a free and open source digital audio workstation which can be used to record and mix music, podcasts, or just about anything else. The software has been available for Linux and Mac for over a decade.
Now it’s also available for Windows.
Ardour 5.0 has just been released, and one of the most notable updates is support for Microsoft Windows.
Another major change in the latest version is support for a single-window user interface, which allows you to flip between the editor, mixer, and preferences views in tabs.

Remember that next-gen NVIDIA Shield tablet that passed through the FCC in May? Yeah, apparently it’s not happening.
NVIDIA has updated its application with a dismissal request letter. The reason for the dismissal? “For business reasons, the product has been cancelled.”
It’s not entirely surprising that NVIDIA would decide not to launch a new Shield tablet. The company is largely focusing on high-end graphics cards for computers and new markets such as the automotive industry.

There’s just one catch: it’ll only be available in China.
In an interview with the Korea Herald, Koh confirmed that a model with more memory and storage will be coming to China soon.

Intel isn’t developing Atom chips for smartphones, tablets, or low-power laptops anymore. But it looks like the Atom brand will live on.
At the Intel Developer Forum in San Francisco next week, the company will unveil some details about next-gen Atom chips based on the new Apollo Lake platform.
There aren’t many details available at this point, but as PC World notes, the technical session schedule includes a few events related to the unannounced, next-gen Atom products.
