I picked up a set of Bluetooth earbuds last year when I realized what a pain it is to use wired earphone while exercising. The model I use sells for about $24 and offers pretty good battery life and decent, but hardly spectacular audio.
But Samsung is hoping you’ll spend $200 on its Gear IconX earbuds when they ship later this year. What makes them worth 8 times as much as my earbuds?

It’s been more than two years since Samsung launched the original Gear Fit activity tracker. Now the company is introducing a new model with an updated design, GPS support, and a lower price tag.
The Gear Fit 2 is expected to sell for $179 when it ships later this year.
The Gear Fit 2 looks more like a wristband than a watch thanks to its elongated 1.5 inch, 216 x 432 pixel curved AMOLED display (which is a bit smaller than the 1.84 inch screen on the older model).

Google and Asus launched one of the first Android TV devices in late 2014. But after a year and a half on the market, last week it looked like the Nexus Player had reached the end of the road: it was no longer available for purchase from the Google Store or most other retailers.
But the Nexus Player might not be dead after all. It might just be due for a hardware refresh.

Windows Hello is a security feature built into Windows 10 that lets you prevent unauthorized people from logging into your device… but which lets you login without entering a PIN or password.
Right now Windows Hello lets you do that via fingerprint, iris, or facial recognition, assuming your device has hardware to support those features.
Eventually you may be able to unlock your device just by wearing a wristband or other wearable device.

After launching its first Windows tablet in 2015, Eve Tech is getting ready to launch a new model with higher-quality hardware.
The Eve T1 was an entry-level device with an 8 inch screen, an Intel Atom Bay Trail processor, and pretty run-of-the-mill specs. But the upcoming Eve Pyramid Flipper is a 2-in-1 tablet with a 12 inch high-resolution display, an Intel Kaby Lake processor, and at least 8GB of RAM.
The company unveiled some of the specs in April, but this week Eve updated the spec sheet to note that it will ship with a 7th-gen Intel “Kaby Lake” chip instead of a Skylake Core M CPU.

The Pebble Core is a tiny, internet-connected device that you can use as a fitness tracker, music player, or smart remote control for your other gadgets.
It also has a microphone, which we were originally told was for recording voice notes on the go. But it turns out there’s another use for the mic: The Pebble Core supports Amazon’s Alexa voice service, which means you’ll be able to use your voice to ask questions, control your apps, and more.

Chinese device maker Xiaomi launched its first wearable nearly two years ago. The Mi Band is a simple fitness-tracking bracelet that sold for just $13 at launch, and that low price tag helped Xiaomi snag the second place spot in the wearable space.
Now Xiaomi is launching the Mi Band 2. It’s priced at $23, which makes it almost twice as expensive as the original… but still pretty cheap when you consider all the new features Xiaomi has added.
