
It’s only been a few months since the first smartphones with 6GB of RAM started to appear, and while they’re not exactly mainstream just yet, they are becoming increasingly common.
So what’s next? Smartphones with 8GB of RAM, obviously.
Rumor has it that Chinese device maker LeEco will launch a new phone in August featuring 8GB of RAM, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, and other top-tier specs.
LeEco was also the first company to show off a phone with a Snapdragon 820 processor earlier this year (back when the company was known as LeTV), and one of the first companies to jump on the 6GB bandwagon.

CTL is updating its line of Chromebooks for education with a new model featuring an Intel Celeron N3160 Braswell processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a semi-rugged design.
At first glance the new CTL NL61 Education Chromebook looks a lot like the NL6x which launched earlier this year. But the new model has a newer processor and an extra 5 hours of estimated battery life, among other improvements.
The CTL NL61 Chromebook is up for order for $239 and should begin shipping in July.

The Asus Zenfone Pegasus 3 is coming to China soon for 1299 Yuan ($197) and up.
The entry-level model feature 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, but Asus will also offer a 1499 Yuan ($228) model with 3GB of RAm and 32GB of storage.

Monohm’s Runcible breaks the mold. It’s designed to look more like a pocket watch than a smartphone… and in fact, you can’t even hold it to your head to make calls (you’ll need to pair a Bluetooth headset if you want to use the Runcible as a phone).
