Motorola’s entry-level smartphone is getting a major update this fall. The company has announced that the Moto E3 will be available in the UK September for £99, which is about $130 US, although pricing and launch details for other markets haven’t been announced yet.
The new phone features a bigger, higher-resolution display, a larger battery, and Android 6.0 software.
In fact, the Moto E3 seems to have the same specs and design as the Moto G4 Play… suggesting that they might actually be the same phone with different names for different markets.

There are now three Chromebooks that can run Android apps. About a month after rolling out an update for the Asus Chromebook Flip that adds support for the Google Play Store and Android apps, Google has rolled out a similar update for the Acer Chromebook R11 and Google Chromebook Pixel (2015).

ZTE isn’t the only company offering a smartphone with high-end specs and a less-than-high-end price. Alcatel’s Idol 4S smartphone goes up for pre-order July 15th for $350 and ships starting August 3rd.
First unveiled in February, this phone features a 5.5 inch, 2560 x 1440 pixel AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a 3,000 mAh battery.

ZTE’s Axon 7 smartphone has the kind of specs you’d expect from a $600 smartphone, but it has a much lower price. First announced in May, the ZTE Axon 7 is available for pre-order today for $400.
I won’t go so far as to say that it’s a top-tier phone with a mid-range price. But that certainly seems like a very good price for a phone with a Snapdragon 820 processor, at least 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, and a a 2560 x 1440 pixel display.

We may be living in the age of the smartphone, but there are still plenty of notebook and desktop computers out there. The analysts at IDC say 62.4 million personal computers were shipped worldwide in the second quarter of 2016, while rival Gartner puts the number at 64.3 million.
Both companies agree that’s fewer PCs than shipped during the same period in 2015… but there are a few bright spots for PC makers in the reports: IDC had expected a larger decline in shipments, and while global shipments were down, things were actually up a little bit in the United States.
