
BlackBerry’s last two smartphones have been Android-powered devices featuring a suite of BlackBerry apps for communication, security, time management, and other functions. Now you don’t need a BlackBerry phone to use some of those apps anymore.
The company has released BlackBerry Hub+ for Android, which brings BlackBerry’s unified messaging app as well as its calendar and Password Keeper apps to any phone running Android 6.0 or later.
To use the apps, you just need to download and install BlackBerry Hub and BlackBerry Services from the Google Play Store.

Earlier this year ZTE announced plans to launch a crowdsourced smartphone. Now the Chinese phone maker is kicking things off by launching Project CSX, a community forum where potential customers will be able to share their ideas for a smartphone that ZTE hopes to bring to market in 2017.
Anyone can join the community by visiting community.zteusa.com to sign up.
ZTE says it Projcet CSX is “a new method for developing products that engages directly with consumers at every step of the development process.”
Uses will be invited to submit ideas and then vote on their favorites.

SolidRun is expanding its ClearFrog line of products with a new single board computer (SBC) designed to let manufacturers or hobbyists build a router or other networking products.
The company launched a $170 ClearFrog Pro last year. Now there’s a new ClearFrog Base which is both smaller and cheaper: it measures 4″ x 3″ and currently sells for $70.
The device features a Marvell ARMADA 38x processor, up to 2GB of RAM, an option for 4GB of eMMC storage, a microSD card reader, an mPCIE slot, a USB 3.0 ports, and two Gigabit Ethernet ports.

Mozilla has officially brought multi-process support to the Firefox web browser. After debuting multi-process support in Firefox 48 beta a few months ago, the developers have dropped the beta label.
Firefox 48 is now available for download, and the biggest change is that it’s the first stable version of the web browser to use Mozilla’s new Electrolysis feature that uses separate processes for web content and the browser itself… which should keep individual web pages from making the whole browser freeze.

Microsoft’s Windows 10 Anniversary Update is now available for PCs including laptops, desktops, tablets, and convertibles. But what if you’re one of the small number of people with a Windows 10 Mobile smartphone?
You’ll have to wait a little longer. Microsoft says the Anniversary Update will be available for phones “in the coming weeks.”
That’s the bad news. The good news is that you’re not really missing much. The Anniversary Update brings a bunch of new things for desktop users, including enhanced Windows Ink features, support for extensions in the Edge web browser, and even the ability to run some Ubuntu Linux software within Windows.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 features a big screen, Samsung’s S-Pen stylus for writing or drawing, and specs that… quite frankly, look a lot like those for the smaller Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge phones which launched nearly half a year ago. There are a few new features though, include an iris scanner that you can use to login to your device or use Samsung Pay.
