Apple’s new iPhone models feature new camera system, an IP67 dust and water-resistant case, and longer battery life.
The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus also have one less feature than previous models: there’s no dedicated headphone jack. Apple says there’s no need for a single-purpose jack in a mobile device, where space is at a premium.
The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be available September 16th, and pre-orders open September 9th.

With a 1000-nit display, the Apple Watch Series 2 also has a screen that’s twice as bright as its predecessor, and Apple says the new screen is the brightest its delivered for any product.
Other new features include built-in GPS and a new swim-proof design, as well as support for swim tracking.

Nintendo is bringing its first Super Mario game to mobile. Super Mario Run will initially be available as an iOS exclusive, and it’s got the look and feel of a classic Mario game, but it’s designed specifically for smartphones.
It’s a sort of cross between a platform and an endless runner, and Super Mario Run is designed to be playable with one hand.
Mario automatically runs from left to right, and you can make the character jump by tapping the screen.

More than five years after HP discontinued its TouchPad tablet, the ROM building community continues to release new software for the 9.7 inch tablet. Want to take Android 7.0 Nougat for a spin on the TouchPad? Now there’s a ROM for that.
Note that while Evervolv 7.0 for the HP TouchPad is the first Nougat-based ROM for the tablet I’m aware of, it’s still very much a work in progress. Some features aren’t working yet, and the camera isn’t currently supported.

The company’s first phone is a 5.5 inch smartphone with a Snapdragon 800 processor, 3GB of RAM, and Sailfish OS software. It’s designed for security and has no USB port or headphone jack, presumably because those present vulnerabilities that can be exploited by hackers… or something.
Think that’s weird? You ain’t heard nothing yet… because Turing is starting to lay out plans for the future… and apparently that future includes a phone with 12GB of RAM, 1TB of storage, an unannounced processor, and a brand new operating system… all of which Turing says will be available in 2017.

The team of Samsung employees who developed the project have launched WELT as a standalone business and they’ve already raised more than the $30,000 in funds they were hoping for… which means the first WELT devices should begin shipping in January, 2017.
